On April 19th, Amman, Jordan will play host to arguably the most stacked card in Brave Combat Federation history featuring three title fights and Jordan’s best talent.
The card will be headlined by Jordan’s own Jarrah Al-Selawe who will look to defend his super welterweight title versus the surging Abdoul Abdouraguimov. Al-Selawe who’s riding a 7 fight win streak, won the 170 pound welterweight title with a spectacular first round knockout over Carlston Harris back in September. He was promoted to the Brave CF super welterweight champion (175 pounds) with the promotion’s new introduction of weight classes.
The undefeated Abdouraguimov, took the promotion by storm with victories over top contenders Sidney Wheeler and Rodrigo Cavalheiro. With Abdouraguimov’s strong grappling and Al-Selawe’s ability to finish the fight anywhere, fans can expect an action packed main event.
Brave CF are one of the first promotions to introduce the new 165 pound weight class in order to combat extreme weight cutting. They will crown an inaugural 165 pound champion when Eldar Eldarov takes on Mounir Lazzez in what promises to be an exciting match up.
Eldarov who’s undefeated under the Brave banner at 3-0 is riding an impressive 10 fight win streak with his lone professional loss coming to current undefeated UFC lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. He was last seen in action when he defeated Brian Hooi via unanimous decision back in May at Brave CF 12.
Lazzez is coming off a fight of the year candidate in his Brave CF debut when he took out Dmitrijs Homjakovs in an absolute slugfest at Brave CF 16. He will now get an opportunity at gold in just his second appearance for the promotion.
The third title fight features Jordan’s Abdul-Kareem Al-Selwady who faces perhaps his toughest test to date when he takes on Brazil’s 2016 fighter of the year, Luan Santiago. Al-Selwady won the lightweight championship back in November with a dominant first round TKO (injury) over UFC veteran Lucas Mineiro. The 23 year old currently training at Fortis MMA, is one of the best talents to ever come out of the Middle East.
Santiago, who fought Lucas Mineiro for the vacant Brave CF lightweight title back in April, suffered a heartbreaking loss due to injury, in a fight that many people felt like he was winning. He injured his shoulder in the 5th and final round, losing the bout via TKO. He then rebounded with a win over Djamil Chan back at Brave CF 18 and will get his second crack at gold when he faces Al-Selwady.
The card is stacked with Jordan’s finest talent including Jalal Al-Daaja, Ali Qaisi and the returning Hashem Arkhagha. Check out the full fight card below.
