A thrilling night of fights concluded at the Newport Centre in Wales and saw hometown boys Lewis Long, Josh Reed and Jack Shore all walked away with victories.
It’s not the way he wanted to win but Lew Long picked up an 18-second TKO victory over UFC vet Che Mills in the main event of Cage Warriors 83 in Newport. Mills was ruled out with an injury to his right leg after the very first takedown of the fight the bout was stopped immediately forcing a premature end to the eagerly-awaited contest.

With UFC Glasgow clearly in his sights it could be just the step up in competition the Welshman needs following a string of wins that have cemented his position as one of Europe’s most outstanding welterweights. Following the quick win last night with no injuries Long is surely good to go when the UFC pitch up in Scotland on July 16th.
