Next Gen NI’s Andy Young (6-6) has signed to fight in the M-1 Global promotion and will make his debut July 03 at M-1 Challenge 59 in the promotion’s new bantamweight division and will face the undefeated Sergey Morozov 5-0 of Kazakhstan.
The promotion had the following to say regarding hosting bantamweight fights;
“Taking in regards… the majority of gifted bantamweights in the MMA World, M-1 Global had decided to open a new weight division for the fighters whose battle weight is lower than 61.2kg.
Beginning from M-1 Challenge 59 event on July 03, Kazakhstan, we will make fights in the new bantamweight division regularly. The opening fight will be hold between Andy Young 6-6 (Northern Ireland) and Sergey Morozov 5-0 (Kazakhstan).”
Andy Young posted about his excitement on his facebook page.
“Excited to announce I will be fighting on one of the WORLDS TOP MMA organisations! M-1 Global! I will be representing the U.K. and traveling out to Kazakhstan to compete and will be on the MAIN card, fighting a weight division up and put my skills on display on the big stage! Everything happens for a reason after all the opponents pulling out on me, this opportunity has presented itself, over the moon! Will be leaving June 30th and fighting on 3rd July, will release more details of how to watch it closer to the time!”
