Ann Perez de Tejada proved that age is just a number as she stepped into the cage last weekend at 68 years of age.
De Tejada made her amateur MMA debut at Sparta Combat League 48 against Laura Dettman (24 year old) and whilst she came up short, you cannot help but respect her for her willingness to step into the cage at her age.
The bout took place at Strawweight (115lbs) and whilst it was De Tejada’s debut, her opponent Laura Dettman not only had age on her side but also experience with a record of 2-2 going into the fight.
De Tejada trains at the Grudge Training Centre and has been training for 5 years in MMA and Muay Thai. According to her facebook page she has a blue belt in Jiu Jitsu and is a 3rd degree black belt in Kenpo Karate.
The fight took place in Denver, Colorado and you can view the event for $15 by clicking on this link.
