5 possible opponents for MVP at Bellator London

With Fansided’s Amy Caplan breaking the news earlier today that Derek Anderson will no longer face Michael ‘Venom’ Page at Bellator London in the time honoured fashion here at WHOATV I take a look at five possible replacement opponents for the main event.

Raymond ‘The Real Deal’ Daniels
Just like MVP Daniels is a flashy flamboyant striker who is no stranger to these shores. Having secured a viral highlight reel knockout when he took on Wilker Barros at Bellator Birmingham. The Tae Kwon Do and kickboxing practitioner has previously fought Page defeating him for the third time in their trilogy bout at the W.A.K.O. Irish Open 2011 when he secured gold in the 84 kg semi-contact division.

Curtis ‘Curtious’ Millender
Curiously cut from the UFC in their recent cull Millender, now signed to Bellator, would complete the circle in that he was due to clash Michael Page earlier in his career but Page had to withdraw from the bout which was due to take place on Bellator 134 in February of 2015. Given his aggressive come forward style and KO prowess Millender would be a formidable replacement.

Paul ‘Semtex’ Daley
The two men have clashed amidst deep seated beef and whilst Daley told me recently that he has since settled his issues with Page he has also revealed he would not be averse to getting back in the cage with MVP, but the money has to be right. With Daley wanting London to be the last time he fights this could well be the opportunity he has been waiting for.

Lorenz ‘The Monsoon’ Larkin
Currently on a three fight win streak after sustaining a KO loss to Page’s previous foe Paul Daley this would be an incredible step up in opponent for Page. Considering his recent bout, this would be more in keeping with the trajectory he was previously on of facing high level but dangerous opposition.

Andrey ‘Spartan’ Koreshkov
Korshkov is a battle tested competitor who recently dropped a loss to Lorenz Larkin. He represents a strong test for Page who, whilst rated for his stand up ability, has a fairly underrated and not often seen submission game.

We will of course keep you updated once a replacement has been found. In the meantime why not let me know what you make of my picks via Twitter.
