It would seem, despite both men finishing last year on veritable highs in combat terms, the UFC have yet to extend an invite to either of them to join the roster at this point in their careers. Both are in very advantageous positions right now where they can walk into Europe’s biggest MMA promotions were they would certainly receive fair compensation for this fight.

Both have faced off against a virtual who’s who of opponents. Both have decent fight records with only one loss between them in 11 professional contests. Mousah has always maintained he is on the search to rub out names and Crawford is as big as they come at the moment. Crawford is on formidable form after wrecking the aspirations of veteran Ronnie Mann and Damien Lapilus. Next to Marc Diakiese this could be described as his most challenging fights to date.

Whilst this is just fantasy matchmaking it’s a matchup of this level that needs to happen given the calibre of both combatants. Both aren’t content to add bodies to their resume for the sake of stacking numbers. What makes these individuals stand out is that they relish meaningful fights that challenge, intrigue and test them far beyond previous opponents have been able to of late.
