UFC 202: Conor McGregor Vs Nate Diaz I [Video]

With just over two weeks until Conor McGregor faces Nate Diaz in their rematch at UFC 202 in Las Vegas, the UFC have made their first fight- which shocked the world back at UFC 196 back in March- freely available in its entirety.

Nate Diaz was a late replacement for Rafael dos Anjos in the main event at UFC 196, who was due to defend his lightweight title against Conor McGregor. McGregor, meanwhile, was attempting to become the first UFC fighter to hold World Titles in two weight-classes at the same time. However, injury kept the Brazilian out, and it was the always game Nate Diaz who stepped up to save the show.

Initially the younger of the Diaz brothers agreed to the bout at lightweight, but due to struggling in the short time he had to make the cut, twice called Dana White to arrange a compromise at catchweight. This in turn saw the ‘Notorious’ one let him dispense with the difficulties of losing weight so they could do battle at 170.

It turned out to be a mistake by the Irishman who all but punched himself out by standing in the pocket and brawling with a far bigger opponent. After largely having his way with Diaz in the first, McGregor visibly tired, and his foe began landing clean one-twos.

Dazed, McGregor dived for the takedown to stem the onslaught and recover himself. Diaz afforded him no respite on the floor however, effortlessly taking his back in the scramble to secure the RNC, setting up one of the most keenly anticipated rematches in MMA history at UFC 202.
