Sky Sports have confirmed that they have secured the UK broadcasting rights to show one of the most historic boxing spectacles of all time. On August 26th SKY, via its pay per view channel ‘SKY Box Office’, will broadcast Floyd Mayweather vs Conor McGregor.
Previously broadcasters ITV ‘Box Office’ and BT Sport were thought to be interested in acquiring the eagerly anticipated match up but it was SKY, with their established and trusted platform, that were reportedly always at the forefront of the race. UK viewers can expect to pay just £19.95 and fans in the Republic of Ireland have a similar price point of €24.95.
For once fight fans can rejoice on this side of the pond as they will not have to invest the $99.95 that those based stateside will have to shell out. The unfortunate rub is we will still have to expect the fight in the early hours of Sunday am.
