ONE Championship returns in July

ONE Championship today confirmed its return to business with the announcement of ONE: No Surrender in Bangkok, Thailand, scheduled to take place on 31st July.

ONE: No Surrender marks the return of the giant Asian promotion following the global pandemic that has decimated sporting events around the world. Following ONE: King of the Jungle in Singapore on 28th February, next month’s event in Thailand will be a closed-door event as is currently the norm with MMA events around the globe.

ONE chairman and CEO Chatri Sityodtong stated: “After returning with the successful ONE Hero Series 13 and 14 events in China last weekend, ONE Championship will now kick off our flagship event schedule with ONE: NO SURRENDER on July 31 in Bangkok, Thailand. The world is suffering from the worst global crisis in a hundred years. Most national borders remain closed in Asia, and this has posed unique logistical and operational challenges. However, our superstar team at ONE Championship continues to work hard to deliver fans the authentic martial arts experiences they crave. Our athletes are ready to showcase their skills and tell their stories.”

Confirmed for the return event so far are two Muay Thai Super Series world championship bouts with reigning flyweight champion Rodtang “The Iron Man” Jitmuangnon putting his title on the line against former flyweight kickboxing champion Petchdam “The Baby Shark” Petchyindee Academy.

In a battle for the featherweight title, reigning champion Petchmorakot Petchyindee Academy is scheduled to face perhaps his biggest challenge yet in “The Boxing Computer” Yodsanklai IWE Fairtex.

As well as the two Muay Thai bouts, striking superstars Superbon Banchamek and “The Killer Kid” Sitthichai Sitsongpeenong will battle for the first time in the ONE Championship ring when they meet in a Super Series kickboxing super-bout.
