MVP goes the distance, remains undefeated

British Welterweight star Michael “Venom” Page was able to keep his undefeated record intact In what can only be described as a very one sided affair with a unanimous decision victory over Nah-Shon Burrell.

Burrell was quick to close the distance and limit Page’s ability to throw his unorthodox strikes but in doing so was not able to generate much offence and just frustrated MVP throughout the 15 minute bout. Page did have some luck landed some offensive highlight strikes throughout but Burrell proved his toughness and was able to avoid becoming knock out victim number 7.

MVP showed his frustration at the post fight interview “It was frustrating because I knew he was going to put pressure, but he didn’t do anything!”

Page moves to 7-0 with all of his previous six wins coming within the first round and while it was frustrating for him to not be able to give the crowd what they wanted in my eyes it was a great learning piece for him and picking up a win over a former UFC star has certainly upped his stock even more. Also fighting a full 15 minutes can only be a good experience for him and teach him how to pace himself in a fighting environment as the training mats and the cage are two different things.

Whilst Page will be disappointed with the win and clearly was hoping for another show stopping finish the win may be a blessing in disguise and I am personally very interested to see what plans Bellator have next for MMA’s MVP!
