UFC Middleweight Champion Michael Bisping gets to flex his acting chops ahead of his showdown with Georges St-Pierre in the explosive and brutal ‘My Name Is Lenny’. It’s based on the true story of Britain’s most notorious bareknuckle fighter: Lenny McLean played by Josh Helman of Mad Max: Fury Road fame. McLean, a known associate of The Krays, Charles Bronson and Ronnie Biggs, was an East End icon, bouncer and enforcer at the centre of the unlicensed boxing world.
‘My Name is Lenny’ is a no-holds-barred epic portrayal of his life, from a troubled and violent childhood to his early fighting years, exploring his volatile relationships and bitter rivalry with Roy ‘Pretty Boy’ Shaw, played by Michael Bisping, all culminating in his championship win to become: The Guv’nor.
Also starring Nick Moran who many will remember from Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, BAFTA winner Chanel Cresswell and Oscar nominated John Hurt.
A special presentation of the movie will be held at the East End Film Festival on June 9th and at Select Sites Nationwide. The film will also be available on Digital Download on June 9th and DVD & Blu-ray from June 12th
