What was gearing up to be a stand up war between the UK’s Jimi Manuwa and Brazil’s Thiago Santos is now not to be. MMA Junkie broke the news which came at an unfortunate time as the British KO specialist was already three days into his preparations. Santos now faces Eryk Anders and this will be the third time the main event has seen a shuffling of the deck.
Confirming the news with Manuwa he was understandably disappointed by an unfortunate mishap that occured within the last day as he told me the details of his injury, “It’s a hamstring tear during sprints in Brazil yesterday morning.’ Continuing he said, ‘I’m devastated I’m not fighting this weekend. I’m gonna stay fit and ready to come back before the end of the year.”
