KSW 57: Heavyweight & Bantamweight Titles on the line

Heavyweight champion Phil De Fries (18-6) is back and defends his title against resurging Polish veteran Michal Kita (20-11-1). De Fries has looked like an unstoppable force in KSW ever since winning the title in his debut in 2018.

The UK native has defended his title three times fending off former champion Karol Bedorf, current 205lbs champ Tomasz Narkun, and Brazil’s Luis Henrique. Overall the 34-year-old is on a six-fight win-streak and has risen to be one of the top ranked heavyweights in the world.

2020 has proven to be a big year for Michal Kita. The veteran earned his shot against Phil De Fries following back to back first round KO wins over UFC vet Igor Pokrajac and former KSW title challenger Michal Andryszak, respectively. With seventeen career wins by stoppage, Kita is a very dangerous opponent and will be full of confidence heading into this title fight.

Croatia’s Antun ‘Killer’ Racic (24-8-1) will also make the first defense of his bantamweight title at KSW 57, his opponent will be announced in the coming days. The 30-year-old made history last year when he defeated Damian Stasiak at KSW 51 in his native Croatia to be crowned the first ever KSW bantamweight champion. Overall Racic has went 5-0 in KSW since joining in 2017.

Lastly, former long-time welterweight champion Borys Mankowski (21-8-1) was announced for KSW 57. The Polish fan favourite and YouTuber has found new life at lightweight and will be aiming to continue his recent win-streak and move closer towards the vacant 155lbs title.
