Born in Poland to Nigerian parents, Izu Ugonoh will officially make his highly anticipated MMA debut in the co-main event at KSW 54 on August 29 in Warsaw, Poland.
The 33-year-old embarks on his MMA journey with an impressive 18-2 (15 TKOs) record in boxing and has won multiple international boxing titles including the IBF Mediterranean, WBO African and WBA Oceania heavyweight titles. Prior to his professional boxing career, Ugonoh was a rising star in kickboxing winning the WAKO World K1 Championships in 2009.
Revealed last month that Ugonoh had officially signed for KSW, it was confirmed that his opponent will be former Glory heavyweight Quentin ‘Ruskov’ Domingos (5-1). The Polish superstar set up camp at the renowned WCA gym in Warsaw, which is also home to the likes of Jan Blachowicz, Daniel Omielańczuk, Damian Janikowski and KSW legend Lukasz Jurkowski.
Hailing from France with a close connection to Portugal, Domingos burst onto the European MMA scene just two years ago. With his size, stature, unique look and bruising fighting style making him a fan favourite in France and Belgium, the 6ft 3 Domingos is set to make his KSW debut with the sole aim of registering the most high profile win of his career and ruin the MMA debut of Izu Ugonoh.
In the main event, undefeated KSW lightweight champion Mateusz Gamrot (16-0) makes a quick return to action following his victory over Norman Parke at KSW 53 last month, when he defends his title against Russia’s Shamil Musaev (14-0).
KSW 54 will be available to watch live around the world August 29 on KSWTV and via the KSW App, available on iOS and Android.
