With the news that Jon Jones tested positive for two different oestrogen blockers, causing his withdrawal from UFC 200 and a whole host of fighters trainers coming forward to condemn him, you might think that a ‘moment of quiet reflection’ might have been welcome on the former Light Heavyweight Champion’s 28th birthday.
However, consistent with his recent behaviour, Jones decided to take his own distinct approach to the occasion by staging an impromptu question and answer session on Twitter. In a series of exhanges with MMA fans, Jones answered numerous questions, many of which were based on his recent failed drug test.
‘Bones’ largely maintained his stance of not knowingly having taken a banned substance, but may have occasionally let slip a little more informantion than he intended by implication. Here is a selected series of the messages for you to judge for yourself:
