Tarec Saffiedine (14-3) and Hyun Gyu Lim (12-3-1) may not be names known by a lot of MMA fans but they make up the main event of this Saturday nights UFC Fight Night 34 in Singapore.
Saffiedine is Belgium’s most well known combat hero since JCVD. This fight will mark his long awaited UFC debut after a successful time in Strikeforce going 7-1 and capturing the welterweight title. Below you will see his KO over Nate Moore from Strikeforce-Challengers 8, this KO is Saffiedine’s first and only as a professional.
Lim is carrying a seven-fight-win-streak heading into this fight, including two wins in the UFC. The rangey South Korean fighter has been impressive in both of his Octagon appearances finishing both of his opponents by stunning KO’s. Below you will see his KO over Pascal Krauss from UFC 164 last year.
Alan’s Angle: This is a very intriguing fight. Saffiedine brings a lot of hype with him and this can bring a lot of pressure. Lim on the otherhand has had to make his own hype and has been successful so far in doing so. Saffiedine has never been stopped, his three loses have come via decisions, so will the South Korean be able to get another KO win or will the Belgium make a successful debut inside the Octogan? It could go either way.
