After the massive disappointment of having his professional debut pulled at the last minute, Fabian Edwards will now make his professional bow on the monstrous Bellator 179 card at the SSE Arena next Friday.
Joining the likes of Paul Daley v Rory Macdonald, Liam McGeary v Linton Vassell and Cheick Kongo v Augusto Sakai, Edwards will now face Rafal “Cejra” Cejrowski (2-0) in London next week.
Due to face Mitchell Richards on last night’s BAMMA 29 card in Birmingham, Richards didn’t gain medical clearance to fight and as such left The Assassin without an opponent. However despair soon turned to jubilation as it was announced that Edwards would fight on the Bellator card.
Asked by Combat Vision MMA about his BAMMA debut, Edwards said “I am still signed under BAMMA. This is just a one fight deal and after I finish this guy, I will be back to BAMMA, hopefully for the Dublin card.
Bellator 179 takes place at the SSE Arena, London, on Friday 19th May.
