21st birthdays don’t come much better than Kennedy Freeman’s. The 6-1 (MMA) UK Flyweight prospect has been signed to a 6 Fight deal with South African MMA powerhouse EFC.
Daughter of UKMMA legend Ian ‘The Machine’ Freeman has shown that the apple has not fallen far from the tree, and is undoubtedly one of the top amateur prospects in the country. After splitting her first two fights Kennedy has been on a 5 fight win streak which caught the attention of the South African promotion.
“I am absolutely over the moon to be signing for EFC Africa!” She said. “This is a huge step for me as I launch my pro career. I believe EFC gives me the right platform, the right opponents and provides a fantastic opportunity for experience and to showcase my skills.”
Freeman is taking the opportunity seriously as she prepares for her pro debut in March. Ian Freeman has confirmed that Kennedy is going to utilise the coaching skills and team of SBG Ireland’s John Kavanagh for this fight:
“We have already spoken with John Kavanagh and are going to be working closely with John and his team to help prepare her for debut in March. I am extremely proud that my daughter will be fighting for one of the best promotions in the world. I have watched EFC grow as a promotion over the past couple of years and I couldn’t be more pleased that my daughter will be moving forward in her pro career with EFC.”
Kennedy has been ‘one to keep an eye on’ for a little while now. Soon she hopes to be ‘the name you know’ and EFC Africa is the platform from which that journey begins.
