Conor McGregor‘s trainer, John Kavanagh, took to twitter to invite Dana White to BAMMA Ireland next month, to which he readily agreed. The only problem being it takes place the same night as UFC London at the O2 Arena!
BAMMA make their second trip to Ireland for BAMMA 24 on the 27th of February. Hoping to build on their success at BAMMA 22 in Dublin last year, in which they enjoyed an impressive attendance of 6000, they have put on a strong card with an Ireland Vs. England theme on the day of the Ireland/England international rugby match at Twickenham, headlined by a certain stand-up war between John Phillips and Cheick Kone.
Inevitably, SBG Ireland- the gym of Conor McGregor- will have fighters featuring on the card, and their head trainer, John Kavanagh, will doubtless be present. As such, he invited Dana White, former UFC Welterweight Champion, Matt Serra, and White’s friend ‘Nick The Tooth’, to come along to watch the event via twitter. White agreed, however, the event actually takes place the same night as UFC London.

The promotion’s line-up for UFC London at the O2 had been widely criticised, with a number of fans suggesting BAMMA had put together a stronger card than their wealthier American competitors; in fact, it has been speculated that the Bisping/Anderson Silva headline bout was added especially to dampen this criticism.
Either way, it seems most probable that White simply made an error regarding the respective dates of the events, and will in all likelihood be in London with the UFC on the night. Or, like many fans, perhaps he will attend the 3 Arena in Dublin, and just watch the final fight in London on TV! At the time of writing, the UFC president has yet to offer any corrections.
