Cage Warriors announce first show of 2016

Cage Warriors Fighting Championship will be returning to action on April 15th after a 17-month hiatus.

The European promotion were arguably one of the strongest in Europe and a huge feeder to the UFC in terms of European talent with the likes of Conor McGregor, Stevie Ray, Joseph Duffy, Tom Breese, Nicolas Dalby, Danny Roberts and many more climbing through their ranks.

Their last show took place on 15th November 2014 at the Copper Box in London but since then the promotion has been inactive and with a change of management are now set to make their return in 2016.
The CEO, Graham Boylan sent out the below message in a press release issued today;

“We know that fight fans want to know everything right now but I wanted to make sure Cage Warriors returns in a way that I felt comfortable with, and in a way that underlined our commitment to develop the sport in the EMEA region.”

“Cage Warriors is at the forefront of driving the sport forward in the EMEA region and is the ultimate proving ground. We were renowned for matching the best fights in the region and building talent as well as providing great value and entertainment for the fans. In 2015 alone 7 fighters who had appeared on our show joined the UFC. In 2016 we plan to pick up where we left off, delivering the same explosive quality that we are famous for ”

The first show of 2016 will take place on April 15th at the Camden Centre in London and will be broadcast live around the world at 9pm UK time.
