Luke “Bigslow” Barnatt will face his craziest fight in the first defense of his Venator Middleweight Title as he is set to take on Jason “Mayhem” Miller as reported by MMA Fighting.
Barnatt won the Title in December against Mattia Schiavolin in his first fight since his release from the UFC. He is set to compete on 20th February at BCMMA and then put his Title on the line against “Mayhem.”
Miller hasn’t competed since a loss to CB Dolloway at UFC 146 and has been in trouble with the law on a number of occasions.
Tony’s Thoughts;
It’s a great test for Barnatt outside the UFC and I think for him he really needs these tough tests. My main concern is what Mayhem will get up to between now and then and whether he will actually show up in Italy in May. If he has put his focus back into MMA then he is definitely a tough test for anyone and holds notable wins over Robbie Lawler, Tim Kennedy and Sakuraba to name but a few.
A huge match for Venator and a real sign that they are looking to be a force on the European scene and with rumours that Matt Hamill will also be on the card it seems that they are looking to bring in some big names, lets just hope they have the financial stability to back them up.
