Things got heated today between Conor Cooke (6-5) and Andy DeVent (11-9) at the BAMMA 19 weigh-ins in Blackpool.
The middleweights butted heads before DeVent shoved Cooke away forcing officials to stand between the pair.
DeVent made weight easily, registering on the scales at 184lbs but Cooke failed to make weight, weighing-in at 188.2 lbs. This sets up an interesting showdown between the two as it is for the BAMMA Lonsdale British Bantamweight Title, if DeVent wins then he gets the title, however, if Cooke wins then he does not receive the strap due to the failing to make weight.
“Absolutely gutted I didn’t make weight. I gave 100% and literally couldn’t give anymore. I apologise to BAMMA, my team and everyone at home,” said Cooke via Twitter.
