One of Northern Ireland’s fastest growing MMA promotions is set to return August 9th for their second show of the year.
Just last month at Akuma FC 5 the promotion crowned a number of champions. Trials MMA’s Sean Tobin (3-1) walked away as the bantamweight champ after defeating James McErlean (3-3) by unanimous decision and is now on the first win streak of his young professional career.
We also saw Niall Smyth (2-1) of Heat MMA secure a late rear-naked choke on a tough Patrick Blight to get his second pro win. There was also a couple of amateur title fights on the line. Among them was one of Ireland’s most active fighters in Keith McCabe winning the welterweight title defeating Kiefer Crosbie by armbar.
In speaking with Akuma promoter Steven Moore he said that he is planning to build off the success of the last show and continue to grow with bigger and better shows. He also hinted at a number of title fights from returning champions but is awaiting confirmation from their respective camps.
What he could say was that the promotion is applying to held under Safe MMA rules and regulations stating that fighter safety is a main priority of the show while heralding the work that Safe MMA does.
Akuma FC 6 will take place August 9th from the Templeton Hotel, Templepatrick.
