Ok, its not what you think. According to Dana White on UFC Tonight, Rich Franklin was recently offered a chance to headline a card in his home town of Cincinnati against Lil’ Nog but declined this opportunity in order to focus on his juicing company.
Franklin owns ZeLin Juice and Fusion Café in Beverly Hills. They offer organic, raw and unrefined cold juices, fresh made juices, smoothies, tonic lattes, teas, acai bowls, shots and assorted gluten-free and vegan pastries.
‘Ace’ was last in action during a KO loss to Cung Le in China way back in November 2012. The 39-year-old stated recently that he has one fight left on his contract and would like to finish it out and compete one more time but gave no timeframe for when that will happen.
Alan’s Angle: Franklin, it seems, is holding out for the right time and right opponent to have a retirement fight and his is right to do so. The former champ has had a great career and is respected by many within the industry. His relationship is so good with the UFC that he can fight whenever he wants and if he wanted to keep fighting I am sure they would not step in his way.
Here is Franklin on AXS TV recently explaining his juicing business and how he wants to end he career.
