UFC announced today that No.10 ranked Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone will take on undefeated Darren Till in a thrilling five-round main event battle in Gdańsk on Saturday October 21 at Ergo Arena.
A true veteran of the sport, Donald Cerrone (32-8; fighting out of Albuquerque, New Mexico) is known for his explosive fighting style and regular appearances in the Octagon, always claiming he’ll fight anyone, anytime, anywhere. With wins over such fighters as former lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez and Matt Brown, Cerrone is now entering the Octagon to once again prove that he belongs in the top of the welterweight division.
Standing in the way of the experienced American is Darren Till (15-0-1; fighting out of Liverpool, England), a 24-year-old fighter who has had just three fights in the UFC so far but remains undefeated in his MMA career.
Coming off a dominant win against Bojan Velickovic just last weekend at UFC FIGHT NIGHT: VOLKOV vs. STRUVE, the rising Brit is wasting no time in his bid to enter the rankings as he prepares for the most important fight in his career.
Till will do what it takes to score one more victory to his record and remain undefeated. He commented, “What he’s got in power, I’ve got 10 times over. It doesn’t worry me. He’s going to throw a few punches and then realise that he can’t stand with me so he’ll try to take me down but it just isn’t going to happen. I am coming in there to just blast him. I will stop him and it will be in round one.
