One of SBG Ireland’s top prospects has signed with Bellator MMA.
James Gallagher (3-0), who is touted as one of the most promising prospects to come out of Ireland since his teammate Conor McGregor, has signed with the consensus number two promotion in the world in Bellator MMA.
In a Twitter post earlier in the week, SBG head coach John Kavanagh teased that an SBG team-member had signed with the promotion by posting a Bellator MMA contract, however, the name of the fighter in question was blocked out.
At just 19 years old, it’s certainly a big move for the fighter from Strabane, but it’s not something that has just happened overnight for the youngster.
In an Instagram post he said the following:
“I can’t put into words how happy announce that I have singed a contract with @bellatormma it’s all I ever dreamed of since I was 13 and now it’s a reality. It is only the begging for me, I’m only 19 years old, I’m young and hungry.”
Gallagher is scheduled to fight once more for BAMMA before making the move to Bellator MMA. No date has been announced for his debut.
