Former European and British muay thai champion James McSweeney (15-13, 9 KO, 6 Sub) will challenge Karol Bedorf (13-2, 4 KO, 3 Sub) for the heavyweight title at KSW 34, March 5th in Warsaw. The championship contest will serve as the headliner of the first KSW show in 2016.
Englishman, who lives and trains in Thailand, made his KSW debut in London back in October, when he submitted Marcin Rożalski inside the first round. Out of his fifteen professional victories, eleven came by way of knockout and six by submission. In his nine-year MMA career, McSweeney fought for the biggest organizations in the world, including UFC, One, BAMMA and Cage Rage.
It will be Bedorf’s third defense of the title which he won in 2013 by stopping the Polish judo legend Paweł Nastula. In his next three outings, the Pole viciously dispatched BJJ specialist Rolles Gracie, outpointed K-1 standout Peter Graham and most recently scored a fantastic high-kick knockout against countryman Michał Kita.
The entire KSW 34 event will be streamed on www.kswtv.com. Look out for the pre fight interviews and exclusive behind the scenes footage only via #WHOATV.
