Former UFC Women’s Bantamweight fighter Shayna Baszler has swapped the Octagon for the squared circle and made her professional wrestling debut.
Baszler, a friend of UFC Champion Ronda Rousey, recently made her professional wresting debut with Quintessential Pro Wrestling in Reno, Canada over the past weekend. She wrestled Cheerleader Melissa in front of a crowd of about 130 fans. Baszler was attacked by Nicole Matthews setting up a future match between them.
Although she hadn’t made her debut until this past weekend, Shayna had featured at Ring of Honor’s 13th Anniversary Show, accompanying reDRagon to the ring. Professional wrestling also played part of her MMA career being part of the infamous “Four Horsewomen” alongside Ronda Rousey, Marina Shafir & Jessamyn Duke.
Whilst it is still unknown whether Baszler will return to MMA following her release from the UFC in March 2015, the professional wrestling lifestyle will certainly keep her schedule busy.
Like Baszler, former UFC Welterweight Matt Riddle left MMA to make his professional wrestling debut in early 2015 and has had success winning the Monster Factory Heavyweight Championship.
